Tesla Model S (2013 – 2016)

Number and location

In your Tesla Model S, there are 3 fuse boxes. These three fuse boxes are behind the maintenance panel in the front trunk of your Tesla.

How To Access

To access these three fuse boxes, you must remove the maintenance panel. To remove the maintenance panels,

  • you will need to pull the rear edge of the maintenance panel upwards
  • release the five clips
  • then maneuver the maintenance panel toward the windshield to remove them

Tesla Model S (2016 – 2020)

Number and location:

In the newer Tesla Model S, your car has two fuse boxes. One is in the trunk, and the other is in the right pillar behind the plastic trim.

How To Access:

You can easily access the fuse box in the frunk by just opening the frunk and removing the maintenance panel. Behind that panel, you will see a black box with the fuse box number one.

You must remove the kick panel to access the second panel inside the cabin on the right pillars. To do so, remove the panel from the right-hand side of the dashboard first. Now disconnect the wire. Remove the panel from the right pillar by just popping it out. Now, you can see the fuse fox under the dashboard on the right-hand side.

Number and location:

In your Tesla Model X, there are two fuse boxes. One is in the frunk, and the other is in the center console behind the plastic panel or trim on the driver’s side.

How To Access:

To access the fuse box in the frunk, you just need to open the frunk and remove the maintenance panel. Now, you will see a black box, the fuse box number one.

As the second fuse box is located in the center console, you will need to remove the side cover of the center console. You can remove this cover by just popping it out. There you will, the fuse box. Accessing this fuse box is a little bit difficult, so you must be careful.
